The bed was comfortable and clean, and the toilet was decent. But its glass door had no opaque covering, so it didn’t offer much privacy and could feel awkward for anyone other than a couple. The window let in nice natural light, but it couldn’t be closed. Road noise came through noticeably, especially at night, and affected our sleep. The room has potential, but needs better sound insulation and more bathroom privacy. It may suit a short stay, especially for couples.

The location is the one good thing I can say about this hotel. It’s close to the main avenue (Libertadores) and the tourist bus stop. We booked a double bedroom for two nights, and unfortunately the stay was very bad. There was never anyone at the front desk, so getting help meant calling a phone number. We left the “Please make room” sign on the door knob in the morning while we went to see the city, but came back late at night to find the room hadn’t been made. The bathroom offered no real privacy. It has a glass door and glass walls, which at least have curtains, but a mirror facing it from the bedroom reflects the inside. The old key system also meant carrying three keys all day: one for the street door, one for the hallway, and one for the bedroom. On the second night, a noise from the bathroom, possibly the water pipes, woke us at least three times. Each time it went on for around 3-5 minutes. Then on the last morning there was no hot water for our shower, just lukewarm at best.

The host was friendly, but there was far too much noise from staff talking loudly, doors opening and closing, and people walking on the wooden floors. The room smelled a bit unpleasant, though not awful. The shower was too small and splashed water everywhere. I left the room-cleaning sign out, but room service completely ignored it, which was frustrating. Bad value for the money. I’d only consider it if I had to stay one night.

The location is handy for the price: the metro is a seven-minute walk and gets you around, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. Our room was clean and, since we were in a corner room with an empty room next door, it was very quiet at night. There was construction next door in the morning, but it wasn’t that loud and is probably temporary. The bathroom’s glass wall is a bit odd, though the curtain makes it usable. Air conditioning is available. The room gets damp with only one window, but you can air it out by opening the door and a window in the common area. That shared area was pretty cool, with both a kitchen and sofas.
