HF Fénix Lisboa

The room was on the second floor by the roadside, yet it wasn't noisy even though the hotel is outside a busy roundabout. The location is very popular, the rooms were clean, and staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided an iron and ironing board when we asked. They also emptied the mini fridge so we could put in drinks we'd bought from a nearby SPAR supermarket.

The breakfast was the best part of our 3-night, 4-day stay, so booking it was definitely worth it. Our room was spotless, had no odd smell, and looked out toward Marquês de Pombal. We also stopped by the lobby bar a couple of times, and the pizza was amazing. Thanks for looking after us. I’d happily book here again and recommend it.

I wouldn’t recommend HF Fénix Lisboa. The room was hard to rest in because the mattress and pillows were poor, and the ventilation left the air feeling heavy. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage and seemed only superficially cleaned. The floor was dirty, and we even found a silverfish in the room. One day, renovation work started without warning and left the whole floor smelling of chemicals. This was a disappointing stay and didn’t feel up to what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel.

I added one extra day to my booking by mistake, but the hotel wouldn’t let me change the dates and still expects me to pay for the night I won’t be there. They didn’t offer any help with the error. I’ve never had a hotel treat a customer this way before. I usually book Airbnbs, and after this experience I won’t be booking a hotel again for a long time.
