Jam Hotel Lisbon

Pamela greeted us at the front desk on our first Lisbon trip as a family with two young children, and she couldn’t have done more for us. Because our flight arrived early, the room was ready a couple of hours ahead of schedule. She also wrote down restaurants to try, suggested things to do with the children, and gave us discount vouchers. In my opinion, this deserves four stars, not three. The staff are great, the rooms and amenities are brilliant, and the rooftop bar overlooking the water is a lovely addition.

The design is distinctive, and the staff are nice. With the windows open, the room had good ventilation, helped by the location near the water. But my room was only about 10 meters from a busy street, and a nearby nightclub stayed open until 4am. Even with the window shut, deep bass carried on until almost sunrise, so it’s not good for light sleepers. There was no TV, refrigerator, or coffee maker in the room. The bed was too firm for me, and the pillows weren’t to my taste. I woke up with a sore neck every morning.

We loved the style and atmosphere from the moment we arrived. This carbon-free hotel is so distinctive and beautiful, with thoughtfully arranged common spaces and lovely spots to sit at both the front and back. The rooms are unusual but comfortable, with a big, beautifully tiled bathroom and a speaker. Staff were warm and welcoming throughout. The rooftop was a highlight, with a pool, ping-pong table, bar, and lots of sofas and chairs. There’s free tea and coffee on every floor too, a really nice touch. The hotel is on a busy street, but the rooms are soundproofed, and there are charming streets, cafés, and restaurants close by. My boyfriend and I didn’t want to leave our little paradise. We’re very grateful to all the staff :)

The hotel’s style was fun, and the rooms were quirky but practical. My bed was very comfortable, and the reception staff were super helpful. There’s no TV, which didn’t bother me, though the lighting felt a bit dim in the evenings. The rooftop terrace was a nice spot to sit at night. The hotel is just outside the city center, about a two-minute walk from lots of shops, and the tram stops right outside. I was at the back, so my room didn’t have much of a view, but that was fine.
