Lisbon Wine House - Rooms & Suites

For 40€, it was decent value. The room was simple, with enough facilities, and it was clean, though it could have smelled fresher. The bathroom was small, but the shower was good. The shared terrace, as pictured, looks nice.

We had a quiet room with a good bed, and breakfast was served in a little courtyard. The staff were friendly, and the place was clean. There’s free coffee and tea all day, plus wine by the glass from a vending machine (!). The hotel is fairly close to the old city centre, with the metro and tram just a one-minute walk away. What more could you want?

The neighborhood turned out to be very poor, and I didn’t feel safe there. The curtains were mouldy and very dirty, the drain was clogged, and I woke up badly bitten by bedbugs. The bites are getting worse each day and hurt so much that I can’t sleep. I may end up with scars, and I want a refund. Does anyone know where I should ask? At first the room seemed fine, even though it was small, and the cleaning ladies were very nice. It only looked okay at a glance.

The photos make the rooms look bigger than they are. The mattresses weren’t good, and the bathrooms had no ventilation. Save your money, you’ll regret booking here.
