Redondo Residence

We felt ripped off by this stay. What we found bore no resemblance to the photos in the Booking.com app. There was a gap of about 3 cm under the room door, so smells from the shared kitchen drifted in. The floor in the room was sunken, and one wall was damp. The bathroom was worst of all: damp patches everywhere, part of the ceiling collapsing, and cockroaches inside. The building's exterior photo on Booking.com shows what looks like a real estate agency, but the place there is actually a pub. Its noise made it even harder to sleep. The accommodation was deplorable and unsanitary.

The entrance to the building felt unsettling, dark, dirty, and old. The listing says there's a real estate agency on the ground floor, but it's actually a nightclub. It was open while we were there, and the noise made it impossible to rest. The people waiting when we arrived added to the discomfort. Inside, the room was in terrible shape and nothing like the Booking.com photos. A gap of about 3 cm under the door let communal kitchen smells in, the floor was sunken, and a wall showed obvious damp. The bathroom was worse, with several damp damaged areas, a ceiling coming apart, and cockroaches. It was a deceptive listing for accommodation in appalling condition, and shouldn't be on Booking.com.

We killed 11 cockroaches in just four days, and even kept the light on at night hoping fewer would appear. That was the worst part of a thoroughly unpleasant stay. The room was dusty and had hair on the floor when we arrived. There was no air conditioning, only a floor fan, which stirred up more dust and irritated our eyes and nose. A 2-cm gap under the door let in odors from the shared kitchen. For two nights in a row, we had to sleep with the smell of very spicy food other guests had cooked. There was no soundproofing, and noise from other residents making a mess in the shared living room often kept us awake. The door could only be locked from the inside with a latch, not a key, which made us feel unsafe. We also saw mold above the door. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

It's a shared apartment, and I wouldn't return. The bathroom and bedroom were damp, the ceiling was coming apart, and there were cockroaches. Noise from the nightclub downstairs also made it impossible to sleep.
