Scandic No 25

The location is superb, and I felt very safe during my three nights there in January. Service was amazing, the staff lovely, and my room was clean with all the essentials. One thing that could be improved: there's no phone or other way to call reception from the room, so you have to go downstairs.

The room phone situation made it harder to deal with the noise, since there isn't a phone to contact reception. The neighbors were screaming and singing loudly until 12:30 a.m. We are 24, and a bit of noise doesn't usually bother us, but this was far beyond that. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. We complained and the hotel supposedly spoke to them, but they kept yelling and making threats, with no consequences. They seemed to get away with it while we were left having a bad stay. The hotel's answer was a bottle of water and a move to another room, which was worse than the first. The kettle there didn't work either. When we told the front desk, the man barely reacted, looked dismissive, and clearly didn't care. I expected much more from a Scandic. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

We had a very happy two-night stay and couldn't really have asked for more. The rooms and service were first rate, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a great base for a weekend, with short distances to everything that matters. I can highly recommend it.

The location made it easy to explore, with most places less than a 10-minute walk away. Three of us came from the UK for a break from the 13th to the 16th of November, and all the staff were welcoming, lovely, and chatty. We had three good-sized rooms with comfortable beds, and two could be joined by a door. The Australian woman on the night desk showed us nearby places on a map, then checked with other staff working different shifts for nightlife and food recommendations. There were games like Jenga to sit and play, and we used it every day. I'll choose this place again when I'm back.
