The room was tiny and suffocating, with hardly any amenities, though the washroom was big, clean, and very good. Hygiene was generally well maintained, and the linen was fresh and clean. The place didn’t feel worth the money at all. You’d be better off booking a nearby Airbnb. They charge more than the amount shown on apps like booking, and insist you take their bedding even if you already have your own, threatening a fine otherwise. They also charge to hold your luggage, even briefly. The reception is actually at the nearby Grand hotel, not where the map shows, and I stood ringing the bell for 30-40 minutes. A text or message through the booking portal could have explained that. They don’t answer the phone, which always seems busy. When I finally went to reception, I saw why: the receptionist kept talking on the phone and only helped me after I’d been standing with my luggage in front of her for 10-15 minutes. The toffee at reception was sticky and cheap, so they should change it or stop putting it out.

The reception staff were really nice and tried to help with everything. The bathroom and toilets were okay, and we found another free wifi called d1link because the hostel’s own wifi didn’t work. Unfortunately, we couldn’t borrow a hair dryer. Our room was huge, with five beds despite our booking for two, which was nice. But sheets and towels weren’t included, and borrowing them cost 80 SEK per person (8€). It wasn’t very clean: there were fingernails under the sheets and brown splashes and other dirt all over the wall. The two showers for the whole hostel were really dirty inside. At 1200 SEK/120€ for two nights, it was definitely overpriced and not worth the money, though acceptable as a hostel.

The breakfast was gorgeous, served in a wonderful setting at the old Grand Hotel, which runs this vandrerheim. Everyone was very friendly, and the place was nice and clean. The two showers were modern, and the bathroom was clean too, though there might not be enough showers if every bed is occupied. Everything was perfekt!!!

For 929kr, I got a single room with no windows, poor ventilation, and little sound insulation between rooms.

Clean and nice, and good value for the price. The rooms are small and windowless, with only a bed and a chair. Still, if you just need somewhere to sleep and go, this does the job.
