Best Western Stockholm Jarva

The walk to Ulriksdal train station takes only 7 minutes, and there’s a supermarket next to it. From there, it’s 10 minutes to Stockholm city. My husband and I stayed six nights and had a great time. The hotel was clean, the service was amazing, and breakfast was really nice. Perfect place to stay!

I’d give this hotel three stars rather than four. It’s worn and slowly falling apart, although the beds have been renewed. The rest of the room hasn’t. The foyer is okay, the service is friendly and helpful, and the inside has an atrium style. Breakfast was okay too. Parking costs extra, 150 SKK per day, in a nearby slum-style parking house full of garbage. It’s probably not the best place to stay in Stockholm, but it isn’t a disaster either.

I was on a business trip and had a small single room, hardly bigger than a broom closet. The bed was okay, but the bathroom was extremely cramped and the shower had no doors, so water could easily flood the room. The toilet bowl wasn’t attached to the ground (!), and without air conditioning the room turns into a sauna in the middle of summer. Breakfast was so-so. Swedish hotels clearly don’t respect the European hotel star system: outside Scandinavia this would get three stars at best, or two preferably. Wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were nice, and the location is handy for getting in from Stockholm airport and connecting to downtown. But the hotel as a whole didn’t feel like what you’d expect from a four-star place. WiFi didn’t reach our room, and the beds were made in a very odd way: instead of one sheet covering the whole bed, there were two smaller ones, which made it uncomfortable.
