Elite Hotel Marina Tower, Spa & Resort

The ferry into central Stockholm was a nice way to make the trip, a quiet glide into the city instead of the usual friction. The hotel sits by the water, a little removed from the noise but still connected. There’s a young, energetic team keeping things moving, balanced by more seasoned staff who bring calm and experience. Everyone was friendly without it feeling forced, and even small interactions with the cleaning staff added up. Breakfast at Elite Hotel Marina Tower was generous and satisfying: cold cuts, warm dishes, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, fresh bread, and delicious coffee. Nothing felt decorative. The rooms have plenty of space to unpack and breathe, and the bathrooms are practical and roomy, with proper bathtubs that invite you to slow down. That puts the hotel ahead of many places in Stockholm where guest comfort gets sacrificed to maximize space. There’s also a large gym with Technogym's equipment for a real workout. I didn’t try the spa this time, but it’s there if that’s your preference. After spending a big part of life traveling and staying at 25-30 hotels a year, I’ve stopped chasing glossy extras. I care about a properly sized, well-equipped room, a location that works, staff who feel human, and a breakfast that doesn’t disappoint. Elite Hotel Marina Tower ticks those boxes. It knows the basics and delivers on them, which is what I rely on when I travel a lot.

Set in a historic mill building at Saltsjöqvarn, Elite Hotel Marina Tower has open views of Djurgården and Stockholm's beautiful inlet. It’s a unique destination hotel by the quay, just a stone's throw from Stockholm city, where the archipelago and nature meet the city and its pulse.

The location worked really well for us, right beside the ferry terminal for trips to Djurgarden or Slussen, while still far enough from the crowds of Gamla Stan. The included buffet breakfast got each day off to a fantastic start. We were a family of 5, and the family rooms were a good size with everything we needed. After long days sightseeing, it was lovely to return to freshly made beds and towels.

The service was the best, super friendly from check-in onward. Our room on the third floor, number 312, had a sea view and was well prepared for our sheltie, who enjoyed the treats. Dinner was excellent, including for our daughter, and the dining area was spacious and nice both inside and outside. We were very pleased with breakfast too. We’ll definitely come back.
