Hotel Bema

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the price was good for what you get. But it felt odd that the hotel was unattended for most of the day. We also had a shower problem: it got stuck on boiling hot water.

The location was convenient, and you could get pretty much anywhere fairly quickly. The rest of the stay was a strange experience. There wasn't a receptionist at the desk at all, and although my check-in was meant to be between 18 and 19, the door was shut during that time. I called the number posted there, only to hear another number I had to call. Eventually someone answered and gave me the entry code and told me which room was reserved for me. With no employees on site during my stay, I don't think I'd come back.

My two friends and I booked at the last minute after our plans to stay with a friend fell through during a few days in Stockholm. The staff were very accommodating and let us leave our luggage while they got the room ready, at no extra cost. The rooms are basic for the price but modern and spotless, and they generously sorted out anything we asked for. Reception is staffed only until 3pm, but once you book they email you the door code and other details. We were very happy with our stay.

I was especially impressed by how accommodating the team was. I asked for a room overlooking Tegnerlund Park, and they arranged it. Around 12:10 PM I got a message saying the room was ready, so I could check in early instead of waiting until 3 PM. Such a nice surprise. Hotel Bema also has a great spot, quiet but central, with Odenplan, Rådmansgatan, and Central Station easy to reach. My room was clean and comfortable, the bed was big and cozy, and the shower was amazing. Everything worked out perfectly. I’d happily stay here again on another Stockholm staycation, and recommend it.
