Skanstulls Hostel Stockholm

I checked in at around 4:00 PM at SOTO Hotel on 24 February, and a friend stopped by my room briefly around 6:00 PM. Soon after, staff knocked on the door aggressively and confronted me about visitors being forbidden. The tone was disrespectful and the whole thing was handled very unprofessionally. No one had told me about this rule before, though any visitor restrictions should be made clear when booking or checking in. My friend was only there for a few hours, but I was also unexpectedly asked to pay extra, without a clear explanation. That felt unreasonable. The staff's attitude was the worst part. There was little courtesy, empathy, or basic customer service, and as a paying guest I expected to be treated with respect. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had, far below acceptable hospitality standards. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews how staff behaved, and provides proper training so others don't have the same experience. I would like a response and clarification about what happened.

There are no windows in any of the rooms, so changing rooms won't help. Mine was small, and there weren't any sockets by the beds. Of the three sockets in the room, two were already being used by the fridge and TV. Breakfast was basic. It was alright overall, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for luxury.

The hotel has a really nice, different vibe, and breakfast was fine. It was very noisy, though. You can hear people walking outside as if they're right in the room, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive to that.

I rarely write reviews, but I was disappointed by how little compassion the hotel showed when I had to cancel because my grandmother died. I contacted them as soon as I could and hoped they'd be understanding or flexible. They still charged the full amount and offered no refund, credit, or even partial accommodation. They said I should have told them at least one day before arrival, as though a family emergency like this could be planned. I hope they rethink how they handle genuine emergencies.
