The staff were helpful and attentive whenever I needed something during my almost three months at Coliwoo River Valley 298 Loft Studio, and I’d definitely return. The apartment was spacious and equipped with the kitchen utensils I needed for a long work stay. There are two markets within walking distance, one about five minutes away and the other seven. Fort Cannin Park, the bus stop, and the metro are about five minutes away too. Orchar Street is a 15-minute walk. Clarke Quay, the National Gallery, and the National Museum are close by, and Merlion Park takes about 30 minutes on foot. The view of Marina Bay from there was amazing, and it made for great weekend exercise. It was an excellent stay.

I spent four weeks here for academic research, and the in-room washer was a big plus. It’s a good location for a longer trip and felt well worth the price. After a busy day in the city, I could come back to a quiet room, even in the middle of Singapore. There were a few tiny ants along the bottom of the wall. They weren’t a real problem, just a small, harmless nuisance.
For our two-week family visit, the loft studio worked much better for us than the hotels and AirBnB rentals we’d been considering. We wanted a kitchen, fridge, washer and dryer, and enough room for family activities, which some hotel rooms don’t offer. The price was hard to beat for what we got, and the location near downtown Singapore, the Marina bay area, MRT stations, and bus stops suited us well. As a cyclist, I was especially glad we could bring in a folding bicycle. It was much more convenient than using rental bikes. Khadijah and the Coliwoo River Valley 298 team were friendly and hospitable, and the service was commendable. If your needs are like ours, I can highly recommend this place.
The location made getting around easy, with Fort Canning MRT and bus stops nearby. Orchard malls and Clarke Quay are about a five-minute walk away, and there’s a small 24/7 convenience store two minutes from the property with everything you need. The front desk and WhatsApp staff were friendly and helpful, and even gave me some flexibility with payments. During a week-long AC problem that made some rooms almost uninhabitable in the heat, they responded quickly and moved me to their neighboring property, which was noticeably nicer. I stayed for three months. The Murphy bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quiet and private, even with the washer running or late-night activity. There were useful power outlets and USB A/C ports, plus a kitchenette with a fridge and washing machine, an iron and ironing board, and basic shampoo and body wash. Overall, it was well equipped, though it didn’t have a drying fan. The room was cramped, with barely enough space to open a suitcase, and the small storage area, which oddly held the fridge, was mostly useless. I used it for clothes. The property needs renovation, especially compared with the company’s other locations, and the steep price made that stand out more. The room was generally clean, but I occasionally saw a small insect in the bathroom. With no windows, the room sometimes smelled stale, and clothes dried inside picked up an odd smell. Both things were a bit embarrassing when I had guests over. The cleaning staff were polite but not professional or attentive to detail. When I reported the insect, I got the dismissive response, "it's okay," which didn’t give me confidence. Weekly cleaning was very basic, barely more than sweeping, but still better than nothing.
My four months at Coliwoo were comfortable, and the rooms came fully furnished with working equipment. The River Valley location made it easy to reach the main parts of the city. Whenever I reported an issue, it was dealt with promptly. The operations, housekeeping, and admin teams were great and treated everyone kindly. Xin was always ready to help me and other residents when we needed assistance. I’d recommend giving Coliwoo a try if you’re staying in Singapore.
