Concorde Hotel Singapore

It’s comfortable and well maintained, even though it isn’t a brand-new luxury hotel. We had a pleasant stay, with great food, a good room, and good service. The Orchard area location is very convenient. There’s a bus stop right in front that can take you almost anywhere in Singapore, and the Somerset MRT station is nearby too.

The second room raised even more serious concerns: used socks were still on the floor, and a male staff member came in after ringing the bell for less than a second. I was wearing only underwear. That was a major invasion of privacy. The first room had a spider and a strong smell of fresh renovation. When I complained, the front desk told me to use an air freshener and said other rooms might have spiders too. I asked to move rooms after that. Management was hard to reach, while front desk staff seemed impatient and dismissive. There was no real apology or compensation, and the problems were treated as if they were minor. My stay at Concorde Hotel Singapore showed serious failures in hygiene, privacy procedures, and accountability. I hope the hotel reviews its standards and trains its staff properly.

If being close to everything is your main priority, this is a good Singapore option. The Orchard location makes shopping centres and city attractions easy to reach, and the price feels fair for the area. The breakfast buffet has a wide selection, though there's a strict dress code: no pajamas or room slippers, you need proper clothes and shoes. The building is quite old, even if they keep it in decent shape, and the rooms are simple. It's also apparently popular with people from neighbouring countries. I have mixed feelings, but if an older hotel doesn't bother you and you care most about location, it works.

We went for a Premier Club room, which came with access to the members lounge from 7am to 11pm. It was a nice way to have breakfast away from the busy restaurant, and there were evening snacks and cocktails too. Service there was lovely. Kirssen, Kimberly, Faridah and the rest of the team deserve a mention. Room service included limited free laundry and a minibar, and housekeeping was great as well. Melody was especially friendly, efficient, and always happy to help. It was our first trip to Singapore and Concorde Hotel turned out to be a good choice. Orchard Road has loads of shopping malls, and the bus stop right outside made it easy to get around, usually without changing buses. Using a CC card to tap on and off was simple. We couldn't make use of the swimming pool because we had coughs and colds, maybe next time.
