Chinatown is close by on foot, with plenty to do, and the MRT is an easy walk too. Staff were nice and the room was clean, but it was very small. Singapore isn't cheap, and I expected a better stay. Noise was a real problem: I could hear everything in the hallway and other rooms, which made it frustrating to sleep.

The location is great, but I wouldn't recommend staying here until the rooms get some money spent on them. The hotel is run down and needs refurbishment, and the shabby room felt unclean. Mould stains made the bathroom seem especially dirty, while the blinds had dead bug stains all over them. The walls were paper thin. I heard neighbours showering and switching lights on and off, though thankfully they were otherwise quiet, and people walking past my room at all hours of the night.

The rooms are compact but well equipped and pretty comfortable. It's conveniently near Chinatown metro station, street shopping and places to eat. I'd recommend it.

After my heart attack two months earlier, I unexpectedly needed a medical appointment back home. Management wouldn't adjust my payment unless my doctor emailed them my medical issues, which would break legal rules and HIPPA restrictions in the US. They kept my money and most likely rebooked the room, making double money. Unethical, and totally unaccommodating. I'll never stay here again.
