Having laundry facilities and a shared kitchen on site was handy, and the rooms were clean, neat, and had a boutique feel. The location made getting around easy, with MRT stations, Chinatown, and Maxwell Hawker Centre nearby. The room and bathroom were just too small for my liking. Still, it was a comfortable stay apart from that, and I’d recommend it.

Outram MRT is only a couple of minutes away on foot, and there are nearby bus stops too, so getting around the city was easy. Maxwell Hawker Centre is also a short walk. We had a Superior room for four nights, and two people managed fine in the compact, well-designed space. The window facing the street helped it feel a little bigger. The bed was super comfortable and made up each day. The shower was small but had a really strong rain shower. We loved staying here and would come back.

Even without a window, our room felt spacious and the lighting was nice. It was very clean, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The 24-hour front desk was a real help since we got in from the airport very late. The walls are thin, though, and we could hear the people next door talking.

The best parts were the location near the MRT and Maxwell food centre, the comfortable enough bed, and the good linens, towels, and shower gels and soaps. I also really liked the adjustable ambient lighting. Still, for what it costs, you don’t get much, and I wouldn’t stay again. It may suit a smaller person better, but for me it was an overall bad experience. I’m about 6 foot 5, or 196 cm, and the room was very small. That alone wasn’t too bad, but the bathroom was even tighter and poorly laid out, with hardly anywhere to hang clothes or towels. The shower gel and shampoo pumps were mounted right beside where you stand, and their wide edge made the narrow shower area even tighter. Putting them on one of the short sides would have given about two more inches of shoulder space, which matters when the shower is only 24 inches wide. The room blocked outside noise well, but sounds from the corridor came through a lot. Better door seals or thick carpet in the hall might help. As I was leaving, the metal rim around the room number opposite ours had a sharp piece sticking out about 1 cm, and it tore my brand new shirt. I was lucky it didn’t cut me badly. When I told the staff downstairs, they just said, “Oh, ok.” They didn’t apologize, ask if I was hurt, or promise to fix it. I got angry and told them to deal with it right away before someone got badly cut, then left because I was getting mad.

Our room was cleverly fitted out for such a small space, and it even came with an outdoor area. There are more modern, fancy places to eat in the same block, and Chinatown and various hawker centres are close by. Two different MRT stops are about five minutes away. I’d happily stay here again on another trip.
