Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre

The beds were very comfortable, though the room felt more cramped than we expected. Our cruise cabin was actually bigger, including its bathroom, which is why we rated the stay 8. We stayed at the ICON during Chinese New Year before our cruise. Check-in with Andrew was smooth and friendly, luggage drop-off was quick and easy, and Anand was welcoming in the lobby. The hotel is well placed for hawker markets, shopping, and Chinatown.

For budget-minded accommodation, this hotel was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious by Asian standards, and there’s a pool. It’s next to Chinatown and about a ten-minute walk from Lau Pau Sat. I heard some hallway noise from doors slamming, but otherwise had an excellent stay.

Jett, who was often by the elevator, made a lovely difference to our stay. Whenever we returned, he greeted us warmly and helped with the lift. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made us feel welcome and cared for. Thank you, Jett, for your kindness. The rest of the team were attentive, patient and professional, even when things were busy. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. We had a very pleasant stay.

Sathish made check-in easy and was helpful with directions. The hotel is handily placed between Chinatown and the city centre, both about a 10-15 minute walk away. There’s also a nearby train station with an underground entrance close to one of the hotel entrances. I stayed one night on 29.12.2025 for a solo business trip. My room was small, but clean and comfortable, with the basics provided, including towels, a dental kit, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. It worked well for a one-day stay.
