Met A Space Pod @ Arab Street

At night, the fan's LED light was too bright for sleeping, so we had to cover it. It would be nice to have a way to switch that light off. Getting in and out of the pods could also be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There are stairs to every floor and no lifts, though there is a roof terrace. We stayed three nights and were impressed by how clean everything was. The space pods had a unique, interesting theme. We booked one double pod and one single pod, and each had its own spacious locker. The hotel is in a very nice district, with lots of restaurants and a mosque not far away. Two MRT stations are about a 15-minute walk. Definitely worth using again.

I stayed at Met A Space Pod for three nights and chose to continue because the place was convenient and comfortable. The pods were very clean, comfortable and thoughtfully designed, the washrooms were well maintained, and the limited storage was manageable. The facilities are good, and the property has real potential. Still, one staff member's manner overshadowed the stay. The woman at reception was consistently cold and hard to approach. When I first asked for help because my pod or locker key wasn't working, her tone made me feel as if she thought I didn't know what I was doing. The problem was still there the next day, and she was dismissive again. I was moved to a pod room on the top floor, where I was the only guest for two days. On the third day a few others arrived, all of whom happened to be Indian/Asian. Honestly, that left me uncomfortable, as though I was being singled out. It's been a couple of months, but the experience still doesn't sit right with me, so I felt I should share it. I hope management takes note and works on warmer, more inclusive interactions with guests.

The pods are comfortable and roomy, with a fan, charging ports and those psychedelic lights. The shared restrooms are functional, and customer service was quick to respond. Bugis is a handy base, close to the MRT and easy to get to the business district. Cleaning could happen more often, though, even for a budget stay. That would make the experience better.

The front desk woman recognized us right away and was great. Check-in went smoothly, and checkout was quick too. Everything was neat and clean, and we really enjoyed staying here. We'll definitely come back.
