Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard, Singapore

We spent a week at Pan Pacific Orchard serviced apartment, and it was our first time there. The apartment was quiet and relaxing, with a full kitchen and laundry facilities, so I could unwind in the room. It’s also very convenient, next to 313 Somerset and the MRT, with shops, food and transport close by. The reception, lounge and servicing staff were wonderful and made it feel almost like home. There’s a gym, swimming pool, steam rooms and hydrotherapy pools. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the stay. Highly recommend.

After an 18-hour flight I was put in a dark room on the 3rd floor, facing a huge active construction site. The room was cheaply equipped and shook from the unbearable noise. Its entrance opened onto an open-air atrium that carried every sound inside. There was no sound insulation, whether the door was open or closed. In my view, rooms below the 10th floor shouldn’t be classed as 5-star because they don’t meet basic comfort standards. This felt more like a 2-star construction site dressed up as luxury, and I’d avoid the hotel. The money issue was just as bad. The full room cost was covered by my membership program balance, confirmed in writing before I arrived, but the hotel charged 1,000 SGD to my credit card as a deposit. At check-in they took another 200 SGD and assured me both amounts would be reversed immediately. After checkout and full payment through the membership program, no refund appeared. Reception first said refunds were processed the next day when accounting opened. Four days later, I still had nothing, and an email said it could take up to four weeks for “internal approvals” before they even started the refund. This feels like a deliberate scam to me. After many years staying at hotels in Singapore, I’ve never encountered practices this unprofessional and deceptive. I’ll file a complaint with the authorities and strongly advise travelers to stay away. There are more honest, professional hotels in Singapore, and this one isn’t worth the risk.

My September 2025 business trip stay was fine apart from a billing problem that’s become a nightmare. The room was booked through GHA Discovery. On 11 Sept, they charged my Mastercard twice, S$1,000 each, for S$2,000 total, then refunded S$1,000. I’d meant to pay for the room with my Amex, so I asked them to fully refund the Mastercard and charge the Amex instead. The room charge eventually went to Amex, but I’m still owed S$1,000, a substantial amount, and they’re still investigating. I can’t see what there is to investigate when the charge was clearly wrong. It’s unsettling that an established brand and property can’t handle basic financial administration correctly.

Today I’m checking out of this lovely hotel. The staff were so helpful and nice, though I might be biased since they said I looked younger than I am, heh :") Breakfast starting at 6am was much appreciated, especially with my serious jet lag. It’s a convenient base for exploring Singapore, and the room is spacious and comfy if you’d rather just stay horizontal and relax 🙂‍↕️
