Penta Hotel (SG Clean Certified)

I’ve just checked out of a deluxe room with a window. It doesn’t open, but it’s large and let in plenty of sunlight. For two people on a budget, the room was spacious enough for the rent. The MRT, bus stop, and restaurants are all walkable, and Mustafa centre is 2 minutes away. You can refill water at the hotel anytime, and the receptionist was very helpful. Check-in and checkout were quick and smooth. We arrived early, and the lady let us check in at no extra charge. The hotel wasn’t clean enough, though we spent so little time there that it didn’t bother us much. Water drained very slowly from the basin, and there were no amenities. It was good value for my money.

The rooms are quite tiny, and although a family of two adults and a child can technically fit in the triple room, it’s a tight squeeze. I also saw little cockroaches running along the walls and bed at night. The location is great for Indian travelers on a budget. The hotel is right in Little India, Farrer Park metro station is around the corner, and Mustafa is nearby for groceries and souvenirs.

The walls did a good job keeping outside noise out. My main downside was that there wasn’t a safe for important belongings. This is a budget-friendly hotel, not a resort, and it works well if you’ll be out all day and just need somewhere to leave your things and sleep. It’s next to the MRT, with a 711 and City Mall within walking distance. I’d recommend it if you check the website room details first and are happy with what’s offered.

The room was a little cramped, and it was hard to open a large suitcase comfortably on the floor. The window couldn’t be opened, and you could hear people in the next room. The building is old and needs renovation. The reception area was unclean and smelled very bad. It was still a decent budget hotel. Our room was clean, and the staff changed the bedsheets and bath towels and cleaned it daily. The staff were all very nice and helpful. It’s close to Ferrar Park MRT, Mustafa Center, Bangla and Indian food, and 7-Eleven. They provided soap and shampoo that came as shower gel.
