Hotel Supreme

The location is the one good thing, just a few minutes' walk from Somerset and Orchard Road. Everything else fell well below basic expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend staying unless the hotel makes major improvements. Please check all the photos I attached. The staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming, with no sense of hospitality. The whole hotel is very old and clearly poorly maintained, with no decent facilities. Even the elevator is extremely old, small, and uncomfortable. When we reached our designated floor, the 7th, there was a strong paint smell all the way to our room. I immediately asked to change rooms, but they refused and said it wasn’t possible. We’d arrived at night after a long, tiring day, so we had no choice but to stay. None of the toilets have a bidet. I’ve used one all my life, so this was very inconvenient and uncomfortable. It was even more disappointing that the hotel has lots of strict rules but doesn’t provide basic necessities: no bidet, complimentary soap, body wash, or shampoo, things usually standard in most hotels. If Agoda allowed cancellations and refunds, I definitely wouldn’t have stayed here.

For kind, nice front desk staff, go to Hotel Supreme. Amir, Violet, and the others aren’t the overly proud, almost arrogant sort. The hotel is old, so the lighting and housekeeping aren’t suited to modern guests, but Amir and Violet’s kindness makes up for those things. For this price, you get an impossible amount of space and an impossible location.

The rooms and bathroom are clean for an old hotel, and the reception staff are good. There’s food and a shopping center nearby, and being within walking distance of orchard is a plus. The elevator is small and compact enough to trigger claustrophobia. The central AC is controlled with a socket that looks like a wall timer, and some of the electrical sockets don’t work. The door uses a manual key.

Please don’t book a holiday here. The hotel deceives tourists, so take time to research before you reserve. When we arrived last September after booking through Agoda, the actual rooms looked very different from the pictures on Agoda and Google. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, with mold on the windows and walls. The bedsheet and pillowcase were completely faded black and looked unwashed. My girlfriend asked the older lady at the front desk if we could move to a new room, but she said all the rooms were like this, as if they’d stopped caring. At 3am while we were asleep, an Indian guy rang our doorbell three times. When I opened the door, he wanted to come in and was talking weirdly. He was asking for sex. It was shocking to us. Security felt very low, and the next day we found out the whole hotel was a love hotel. Don’t book your holidays here.
