Swissotel The Stamford, Singapore

The lounge on the 65th floor was my highlight, with spectacular views and a nice evening atmosphere. The hotel is well connected to MRT stations, shopping malls, and restaurants, so getting around is easy. Rooms are comfortable and modern, and many have great views of the Singapore skyline. Breakfast had a very good range of Asian and international choices. Check-in can be slow because the reception often seems short-staffed for such a large hotel. The pool gets overcrowded too, so don’t count on relaxing there. I’d likely stay again for the location, views, and facilities.

Mr. Andik was so welcoming and friendly, and went out of his way to help. We were really happy to meet him. The hotel service was pleasant from beginning to end, and his warm manner made the stay more memorable. Staff like him make all the difference.

Breakfast was a lovely surprise: we could choose between Clove Restaurant and The Asian Market Café at the sister hotel, The Fairmont. Since it’s halal-certified, we chose The Asian Market Café and really appreciated that as Muslims. The location is another big plus, above City Hall MRT Station with direct access to Raffles City Mall and lots of shopping. In the Civic District, it’s surrounded by heritage sites like the National Gallery Singapore, National Museum, and Victoria Concert Hall. Marina Bay Sands is walkable too, so I could jog along the bayfront in the morning. Still, based on our stays at other hotels, this didn’t feel like the quality we expected from a 5-star Accor property. Check-in used a self-service setup with a big table and several computers, which gave us the impression of a budget hotel, even though the staff member helping us was kind and helpful. Our Signature Suite also felt budget-level, with dated furniture and an awkward layout: the bathroom was by the entrance and the bed at the far end, so we had to cross the room each time. The towels were small as well.

The Accor member lounge was a great place to unwind, with a good choice of food and drinks and a pleasant atmosphere. The room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. With the MRT just steps away and a mall connected to the hotel, everything was convenient. A very pleasant stay.
