The Westin Singapore

Our family of four had plenty of room in the spacious guest room, and the bathroom was beautiful. The staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast had a tasty range of options to suit us. It was our first visit to Singapore and our first time at this hotel. We were thoroughly pleased and would happily return.

The location made getting around easy. Chinatown and several well-known hawker centers are walkable, and Shenton Way MRT station is right outside. The view from the 35th-floor pool was excellent, the water was warm enough even for someone like me who gets cold easily, and the children enjoyed it too. I booked a two-bedroom room with points. It was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was well maintained with strong, reliable shower pressure. The toilet seat was cold and there was no bidet or washlet, which could be a downside for some. The amenities covered the basics, but there were no pajamas. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, I could use the lounge. It was nice to have, though the food selection was limited and I didn't use it much. I did get to try the laksa. It's best thought of as a small bonus rather than a main highlight. An unexpected flight cancellation shortened my stay, but the hotel kindly refunded one night's worth of points. I appreciated the flexibility and thoughtful service. The lobby is on the 32nd floor and opens into a beautiful, sophisticated space with great views. It's a comfortable, well-located hotel, especially if you value space and convenience.

The concierge team made a real difference during our family trip. They organized our day trip to Kuala Lumpur and coordinated with the driver, prepared packed breakfast for our early departure, helped find a convenient offsite laundry service, and arranged late checkout for our evening flight. That last gesture made a big difference. The hotel's clean rooms, great views and relaxing atmosphere had the signature Westin comfort. Marina Bay was easy to reach, and most attractions were a quick ride away. Service throughout was warm and attentive, with everything feeling smooth and well-run. A few areas could use more polish, but nothing took much away from the stay. The Westin Singapore is a solid choice for families looking for comfort, convenience and good service. We'd happily return.

Our second stay was a letdown. We went to bed at 6pm before a 2:30am wake-up for an early flight, but the TV wouldn't turn on. The front desk sent an "engineer" with a new remote. While we waited, a strong garlic smell started up. The engineer couldn't find where it was coming from, so eventually they brought an air purifier. At check-in, we were told pastries, coffee and tea would be delivered at 3am since the breakfast buffet doesn't open until 6:30am. The pastries and coffee weren't delivered. When we raised it at checkout, the front desk said breakfast was there and gave us a bag with fresh fruit, toast, coffee and tea. There were no pastries, and no cream or sugar for the drinks. We said we were disappointed with the second stay but got only a weak apology. For the price, they should at least have offered Marriott Bonvoy points. The first stay, before our Princess cruise, went well except that many nearby places to eat were closed on Sunday. The hotel entrance is on the first floor, with check-in at the lobby on the 32nd. Our room was spacious and clean, with a separate tub and shower. The fitness center was well equipped. Room service dinner was reasonably priced for a 5-star hotel and tasted good.
