The elevator had a very Wes Anderson look, but I took the stairs even to the fifth floor. The room itself was okay, while the bathroom had no shower curtain and a slightly clogged shower. The bed was fine for a night or two, not for longer. For what the hotel offers, I found the price too high, and wouldn’t recommend it. If you have no other option, one night is acceptable.

The breakfast coffee was the worst I've ever tasted, like mud stirred into warm water. Our room was awful too: the carpet was the dirtiest I've ever seen, the furniture looked 30 years old and as if it had come straight from a basement, and the only light was by the mirror. The blinds didn't work. The lift felt dangerous, old as dinosaurs, and stopped unexpectedly between floors. Guests also have to pay for parking. The room photos on the websites are a big lie. Maybe some rooms have been renovated, but what I saw looked completely different.

The receptionists were friendly and spoke good English, and the rooms were clean. Still, the furniture looked about 40 years old, the walls were thin, and the beds were hard as tables. The room lighting was dim, there was no fridge or AC, and the TV had just five channels. There’s no restaurant for lunch or dinner, even though the hotel has a huge one. It feels stuck in the post-communist era, but for the price it’s okay.

The second room had a large shower, but with no curtain, water ran over the edge onto the bathroom floor, where there was no drain. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and the only supplies were small bars of soap. The TV was fussy, with five Slovak stations, bad signal, and interruptions to both picture and sound. The place wasn’t filthy, but it could be cleaner and had a dusty, old-house smell. At least the beds, sheets, and towels were clean. Just before bed I found the first room had no working power outlets, and the phone didn’t work either, so I had to change rooms in the middle of the night. Luckily that was possible, and the receptionist was nice about it.

There were ants in the rooms and fungus on the walls. Dead fish in the pond, awful food, and service that wasn’t very nice. The hotel feels stuck in 1982, which might be the last time it was cleaned. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t go there.
