A'stel Bangrak - Adults Only - Hostel

I’ve been here for 3 days, and they switch off the air conditioning during the hottest part of each day. There’s nobody at reception or around to help, and no way to contact anyone. In 45°C heat, that’s unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. I’ve never come across this kind of hostel rule before. It’s so uncomfortable you can barely breathe.

For the money, it’s a nice hostel and I’d stay again. Staff are very helpful, a BTS station is close, and there’s a mall and small street food market nearby. The rooftop looks out toward the temple. There are some problems: only one bathroom sink worked, the rooms have a distinct smell, and the room doors are always unlocked even though you get a keycard.

The receptionist was super kind and helpful, and the location is great. The bed’s springs pressed into my back, though. There was one plug by the bed, plus a locker, hot water, and AC that worked properly. The bathroom had water leaks, but they can fix those.

The Thai receptionist was really nice, but the rest of this was a bad experience. The rooms smell awful, and nothing feels like it has any quality. The place is awkward and weird, the service felt like nothing, and the price was so expensive compared with other places in the area. The only plus is that it’s fairly near Chula university, a mall, and a temple.
