ARUN Riverside Bangkok

The view is amazing, and this hotel was a great break from the usual chaos of Bangkok’s shopping districts. I’d recommend booking even for just one night. There’s no elevator, which cost it a star, though that’s what you might expect in this area. Keep in mind if you have bulky luggage or find stairs difficult.

A special thank you to the receptionist, who was always smiling, professional, and ready to help with all our questions. She made us feel welcome and cared for. The hotel itself was clean, stylish, and very comfortable, and the staff were kind from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect and the stay exceeded our expectations. For the money, this is only an OK hotel unless you’re there for a photo shoot with the ARUN temple in the background. The breakfast is really good, several must-do tourist attractions are within walking distance, and the service has the kind of Thai hospitality that puts Europe’s to shame. But the rooms seem overdue for renovation, with moldy gunk in the bathroom. The exterior looks like an uncle’s worn-out 80s house, and the reception feels like a youth hostel on a tight budget. Funny that they didn’t post photos of that part online.

We spent hours on the balcony taking in the beautiful views, and even caught the light show at Wat Arun. The window views were lovely, the breakfasts were delicious and Instagram-worthy, and the service was excellent. There are plenty of attractions nearby. 💜
