Check-in My Hostel

The room lights wouldn’t switch off at night, and they were so bright it felt almost like being in a bar, making sleep even harder. The soundproofing was also very poor because the room is divided by wooden partitions. Even with the door shut, I could clearly hear people walking and moving outside. Motorbikes made the street noisy at night, and I couldn’t fall asleep until nearly 2 a.m. There’s an Islamic mosque next door. I have no issue with any religion, but with such weak insulation I could hear people singing or chanting there from around 6 a.m. The owner required guests to wear the hotel slippers when entering, but they didn’t seem to be disinfected with alcohol or properly sanitized. The toilet and shower are both on the first floor, which is inconvenient if you’re on the third floor. The building seems to be a self-built house, with narrow, steep stairs that are difficult to use.

Terrible place, stay away. The hostel owner was unpleasant. She insisted we take off our shoes, then gave us old shoes that lots of people had worn before. We suggested using shoe covers instead, but she strongly objected. She wanted us to leave. We said we’d only go if she refunded us, but she refused. She was so unpleasant that we decided to get away from the place. If you’re honest, bring our money back, because Booking said the refund was your responsibility! Update from 10.2.26, you still haven’t refunded me!!!

The room was comfortable, very clean, and quiet, and the price seemed reasonable. Being close to the Muslim temple made me feel scared, though.

The only downside is that the toilets and shower cubicles are on the ground floor. Otherwise, it has a nice home-stay feel, and the owner clearly puts a lot of effort into keeping things clean. There’s a cafe by the canal nearby that’s worth a visit, and the ferry is a short distance away. Pratunam and MBK are about 1.5 km away on foot.
