Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 by IHG

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was always plentiful and tasty. The hotel’s a little older and shows its age, but the room was comfortable and I slept well every night. From the desk by the window I could hear some street noise; once I moved away from it and got into bed, things were fine. I spent Christmas here and was glad I did. The location seemed to put me in the middle of everything, with lots going on and plenty of cheap street food and good, inexpensive places to eat nearby. I had such a good holiday that I’m seriously considering coming back for Christmas 2026.

My room was clean and tidy, with a soft bed and a choice of pillows. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a small balcony, though the view wasn’t great. It’s within walking distance of the BTS station, with a few 7-11s nearby. The hotel sits among bars and nightclubs in an area full of white people, so it gets a bit noisy at night. I stayed a week and found it a good hotel overall.

Soi 11 is lively at night, with plenty happening, which could suit anyone who likes a vibrant area. The security guard was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and reception staff were okay overall. I usually choose Holiday Inn Express as an IHG member, since I’ve generally had good stays with the brand overseas and in Australia. This property fell short of that standard. The air-conditioning smelled damp and musty and made the room feel humid and uncomfortable. Our first room, on the 8th floor, had a very strong smell. Reception moved us to the 5th floor, where it was still there, just less noticeable. The A/C system needs attention. We also paid extra for a “Nana Street View,” which didn’t seem worth it because there wasn’t anything significant to see. I’d skip that option when booking.

Lita at reception was especially kind, professional, and welcoming, and she made the stay better. The staff were flexible and helpful, and the hotel was comfortable and well located near the main centers, with convenient services all around. Highly recommended.
