Issara by d Hostel

The hostel is in an incredible spot, about 10 minutes from several temples, 15 minutes from Chinatown, and 7 minutes from the subway. It's peaceful, very clean, and well organized, and the staff are wonderful and friendly. Breakfast is worth getting. I'd definitely come back.

The reception staff were great. They printed two pages for me for free and helped me edit documents, which I really appreciated. The bed and bathroom were clean, and the capsule-style bed was comfortable. It's in a quiet neighborhood and well located, with a spacious social area, though you can hear traffic outside in the evening. That noise doesn't carry into the room. There's a cafe, restaurant, and swimming pool on site. I also went to a nice massage place about 50 meters away in the back alley.

The big downside is the noise. It's beside the road, and you hear it in the rooms, rooftop, and common area, so earplugs are needed for a good night's sleep. Some rooms also have no windows and are pretty dark. Lockers cost extra. The place is very clean, the beds are fresh, and the room temperature is comfortable. Reception staff speak good English and are helpful. There's a fridge, a small kitchen guests can use, a cafe on the first floor, an iron, and laundry. The free morning yoga on the rooftop every day is amazing.

After a week in Bangkok, I'd say this was the best hostel I stayed at. It's well located, clean, and the rooms are comfortable. The pool is a big plus, and there's a relaxing rooftop terrace too. You can also do your own laundry with the washing machines.
