Norn Yaowarat Hotel

The facilities were very clean and well maintained, and I stayed in a private room. But the hostel didn't feel especially welcoming or social to me, and I didn't find it a good place to meet people or make connections. I think there are better value options in the area with a livelier social atmosphere.

Everything went smoothly and the location was good, but the AC had a nasty smell. We couldn't open the window instead because of the noise, which we'd expected given where the place is.

The location is hard to beat if you want a lively stay. Chinatown really comes alive around 5:00 pm and stays going until 2:00 am. Even so, from my room at the back of the hotel I never heard traffic or people. It was very quiet. I booked a single room with a private bathroom. During a thunderstorm the ceiling leaked, so I messaged the staff, and within 20 minutes they offered me another room. They were very friendly and always available. It’s a budget hotel with the basic amenities, though there was no bar soap. Each room has an electric kettle. Breakfast is toast and a choice of instant drinks. WiFi was pretty stable. There’s coin laundry on site, but the dryer was broken, so I walked a few minutes to a 24-hour place. Also, there are only stairs and no lifts, so this isn't a good choice if walking or getting around is difficult.

I’m a builder myself and was impressed by how well the place is built. The service was amazing, and the staff were really friendly. The electricity switches off when you leave the room to save energy. Perfect location, highly recommended.
