Pinnacle Lumpinee Park

My friends and I checked in last week. We liked the comfortable room and the view, and the buffet breakfast was delicious. The problem was the Filipina receptionist. She seemed unsure of what she was doing, and we felt unwelcome after greeting her twice without getting a greeting back. Please train the staff properly.

We booked the “Family Room with Two Queen Beds” directly through the website, and the price was really good. The room was spacious, looked brand-new, and had a beautiful view. Kids under seven eat breakfast free when sharing with their parents. The location was amazing for our family’s visit to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It’s very close to MRT Lumphini, so getting around is easy, and there are lots of restaurants along the street and right at the entrance. Highly recommended!

I’ve stayed here several times. The lobby and rooms have had some renovation, but the floor corridors still look dated. The walk from the elevator to the room feels old-fashioned, which gives the place a slightly odd atmosphere. You don’t sleep in the corridor, of course, and whether it bothers you is a personal matter. The rooftop pool and gym seem old and not well maintained, and there’s no staff there. The lights are usually completely off around 8 PM. The staff work hard, though, and cleaning starts early, at about 4 AM. The luggage policy can be inconvenient. If you arrive a few days early, they’ll store luggage, but only one suitcase per room. If you’re traveling with a friend and each have a case, you have to deal with the extra one yourself. Given the facilities and location, I’d only consider returning if the nightly price were under USD 30 without breakfast, and I didn’t need to store luggage before check-in.

The hotel is worth what you pay, and it’s easy to get around Bangkok from here. MRT Lumbini is four minutes away on foot, there’s a bus stop in the same area, and two 7/11 shops are nearby. There’s also a Chinese shop down the road that’s always open. Its food is a little expensive, but portions are big and tasty. Breakfast is excellent, with lots of Thai and international choices. I’d seen comments saying there was no bacon, but it was available, fresh and tasty. The restaurant and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I also found the rooms neat and in good condition, with hot water always available, contrary to comments about old rooms and no hot water. Tea and biscuits are available in the lobby anytime, and the hotel has a taxi. There’s one lift from the car park to reception, then the main lift from reception to the rooms. The Wi-Fi is good and it’s easy to travel to all the sights. Just note there’s no hand shower by the toilet.
