Pong Pai House by OYO Rooms

We were made to pay at the property after they refused to let us cancel, and they never gave us a receipt. The place is in the middle of nowhere, with nothing nearby. There were beer bottles outside the room door, rubbish everywhere, smelly sheets, and flies indoors. I know it’s cheap, but that’s no reason to stop cleaning. You can see more in the attached pictures. Run away and find somewhere better.

There was a snake inside.

I paid on Booking for three nights, but they wouldn’t check me in on the first day, and nobody refunded me. The remaining two days were fine. I saw French women end up in a similar situation, arriving to find no one there to meet or check them in, though I don’t know what happened to them afterward. The location has pros and cons: I liked the natural surroundings, but it felt remote, and a taxi was the only way out. I couldn’t find a bike rental nearby.

After I booked, they canceled and said they hadn’t received the reservation. If that was true, why didn’t they close the booking system? The refund took a very long time, and the entrance is quite isolated.
