Sovereign Group Hotel

I booked at the last minute after deciding my previous hotel wasn’t for me. The staff here were friendly and helpful, and everything felt organized and straightforward. My November 13 to 15 stay was peaceful despite the busy neighborhood, since the hotel sits tucked away at the end of a small alley. It’s also very close to shopping spots like Platinum, Decembers, and Pratunam. The bed was comfortable, the room was cleaned every day, and the basic amenities were there. Space is tight, though, so lots of luggage would be a problem, and the shower’s hot water kept changing. Those two things are why I’d take off a star. Still, I’d recommend it.

I really liked where it’s located, but sleeping was hard with rooms this small and walls this thin. You can hear everything. The shower pressure is weak and the water doesn’t get very hot. I also found it a bit of a struggle to communicate because the staff’s English wasn’t great.

There are shops nearby and food vendors all around, though the area has a lot of construction. The room was clean, tiny, and came with a small bottle of water. For a couple of nights at this price, it was good enough. Noise was a real problem. I was woken several times on my first night by loud guests and doors slamming hard. The walls are thin, so you hear everything. The older woman at the front desk didn’t seem very friendly, but she did her job. Maybe she’d had a bad day, or maybe dealing with rude tourists gets to her. Fine for a short stay.

I stayed on the top floor, Level 6, from 26-30 Aug 2025. The front desk staff were polite, the room was reasonably clean, and the location is handy for Platinum Mall and nearby massage places. But on 28 Aug, the water pressure in our room fell to almost nothing, so we couldn’t shower there. First we were told it would be fixed by 8am, then the estimate moved to noon, and the problem lasted all day. We had to use spare rooms on lower floors to shower, even late at night. It made the hotel feel like a hostel with shared bathrooms, and there was no proper communication or accountability from management. A convenient location doesn’t make up for failing to provide such a basic need. If water and basic comfort matter to you, think twice before booking.
