Upstairs at Ton Ton

The rooms are cutely designed, but they smell really bad, like sewer gas coming up all day, even with the toilet door closed. It's a pretty nasty smell for a hotel. The location is generally close to Kao sahn road, but the 100 meters right around the hotel feel intense with the smells and not very safe. I spent the night alone there, so I'd double-check that before staying.

Old Bangkok is easy to explore from here, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well cared for, too. You can hear some noise through the walls, but it was still a comfortable, convenient stay.

The location made it easy to get around Bangkok, and the room was spotless. I felt welcome as soon as I arrived, thanks to the really kind staff. Such a lovely stay! 🌸

The café downstairs was a great start to the day, with good coffee, breakfast, and a relaxed feel. It costs a little more than Thai prices usually do, but the extra 1-2€ felt worth it. We also found Grab rides into the city center easy and affordable, at no more than €5. We stayed three nights and loved it. The place has been freshly renovated, which may explain the few reviews, and it was very clean. Khao San Road and sights like the Grand Palace are within walking distance, so it worked really well for a short Bangkok visit.
