Sumittaya Chiangmai Hotel

I’ve never had a worse hotel stay. The service was awful and you could hear through the walls. At check-in, they said the cabinet items were free, so I took two disposable toothbrush and toothpaste sets. When I went to get more the next night, the front desk said guests could only take them once. Nobody told me that on arrival, or I’d have taken enough for all three days. I tried explaining, but they still refused and told me to buy some outside. It’s ridiculous to be so stingy over such cheap little things. I’m telling everyone I know to avoid this place.

We were really happy with our stay here. It’s right in the Old Town, with bars just a two minute walk away, lots of nearby temples and restaurants, scooter rentals close by, and the Sunday market about five minutes down the street. The rooms are small, but very clean and convenient. Water pressure could be better. The staff were welcoming all around, from the night security guard to the front desk. A huge thank you to Matt and Champ. After we lost a phone, they patiently helped translate and explain things to the police, and stayed available by phone while we tracked it down. We wouldn’t have found it without their help. Thank you so much! 🙏🏽❤️ Do yourself a favour and stay here!

The walls are really thin, so even with the doors shut you can hear people talking in other rooms. Apart from that, we liked the stay. The hotel is in a pleasant, quiet area, and the standard room was clean, though a bit small. The bed was firm and huge, maybe an extra king at around seven feet, with plenty of room to stretch out. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good, with buffet and à la carte options.
