Andaman Sunflower

The owner was friendly, and the basic bungalow was neat and tidy, with a mosquito net. I found the garden peaceful, with a comfy hammock and a very comfortable bed. The value for the price is great in my opinion. Some parts might not suit everyone, like the roosters calling all morning and the lack of hot water, but I had a great stay.

Staying in an authentic bungalow is a neat idea, and the owners were nice. It’s a short walk to the beach, and there’s a lovely hammock on the balcony. The downsides: you can hear neighbors coughing all night and roosters and chickens making noise at all hours since they roam the property. We only had a large beach towel for a blanket, and it didn’t cover our feet. The fan’s breeze pulled the mosquito net away from the bed on our first night, so we got bitten a lot. Tucking in the corners for the next couple of nights fixed that. A morning black coffee cost 120B, which felt too expensive for the place.

I first stayed here ten years ago and loved it enough to come back. The bamboo bungalow is a wonderful experience, and the room is cleaned every day. The garden setting is beautiful and quiet; it’s the only place where I don’t need earplugs. Waking up to birds and nature is amazing. Wi-Fi is perfect, and food is made to order and top quality. The owners, Norman and Noo, are so friendly and help with whatever you need, from transport and renting a safe motorbike to a local cooking class. Thanks, Norman and Noo.

We stayed four nights, February 13-16, at Adaman Sunflower Resort and would happily come back. It’s in a central part of the island, with a very short walk to Long Beach. The bamboo bungalows have a real island feel, with comfortable beds, lovely private bathrooms with spacious showers, and big porches furnished with a hammock and lounger. The garden and jungle setting keeps you away from the road noise. The owner is very nice to chat with and can tell you about local life. There’s a stylish restaurant on the property where you can get breakfast or dinner. We recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic island stay.
