Wind Beach Resort

Our side ocean-view room was spacious, newly renovated, and clean, with a nice balcony and good air conditioning. We stayed for five nights and loved the hotel. The pool was nice, breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly. The location right in front of the beach was perfect, and we’d definitely come back. There’s music noise from the bars, but Koh Tao has lots of nightlife, so some noise is to be expected. That’s not the hotel’s fault.

The beachside location was amazing, and we were really happy once we arrived. I’d booked for the following day after seeing photos on booking.com that hadn’t made much of an impression, so the hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room was nice, and the balcony was even better. Reception and bar staff were kind and helpful. Some, though not all, of the beach restaurant staff could be moody in the mornings. There were quite a few ants in the room, but we got spray and managed them for the time being. It was also noisy at 2-3 a.m., though I suppose that comes with being so close to nightlife. Apart from that, it was a great hotel.

The room and balcony were spacious and lovely, and the staff were really nice, especially the man at reception. We appreciated the free drinking water and shuttles to and from the port. The place is right on the beach and very central, and I think it deserves a better rating. The downside of that location is the noise, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. Also, food left out attracts ants, so we sealed packets and kept things in the fridge.

We left early after two sleepless nights. The late-night noise and inconsiderate behavior from nearby guests made the stay too stressful for our family with a young child. This lively part of Sairee Beach is close to restaurants, bars, and nightlife, so it may suit people who want to be in the center of things, but it could be hard for families or light sleepers. The hotel tells guests about the noise before arrival and leaves earplugs in the room, which we appreciated. Our room was clean and comfortable, though housekeeping only comes if you put the sign outside the door. Reception staff were friendly and tried to help when we reported repeated disturbances late at night and early in the morning. One thing that confused us while researching: some Google reviews seem to be about Big Fish Resort rather than Wind Beach Resort.
