The room smelled strange, the curtain was awful and let in all the light, and our room was on the second floor with no lift. We booked two rooms, but when we arrived, the woman there didn’t seem to know about our booking. There were lots of empty rooms, but she didn’t want to give us any. She didn’t speak English, so we had to wait for the owner, who knew a little English but wasn’t very helpful. We eventually got a room. The breakfast was probably the worst I’ve ever had. It was very cheap, but still not worth the price. This was one of the worst places I’ve stayed in Asia, and one of the worst in my life. I wouldn’t recommend it.

There was construction right next door during the day, as they were expanding the rooms. At night, an employee staying in the room next to mine was drunk, arguing with her boyfriend, slamming doors, and shouting. I didn’t sleep at all. The room area was full of garbage and empty bottles, and other guests told me this happened every night. It was a horrible experience, a nightmare. Seriously, don’t go there.

The breakfast was really tasty and had plenty of variety. The facility is about a 20-minute walk from the center of Pai. I slept in a separate building, where the rooms are basic, generally clean, and very quiet. I slept really well there.

I booked a holiday home, but what I got was four rooms. Check-in was slow, though the place has such a relaxed vibe that maybe that makes sense.
