Pai Lamun Valley

A cozy, peaceful place in Pai, with a huge room and very new facilities for the price. It also has everything needed for cooking and living, and the city center is only a few minutes away.

We gave up and left after a really unwelcoming start. Nobody acknowledged us when we arrived, so we had to call out for service. When we asked about using the sauna, a staff member showed us where it was but didn't explain where to change or get a towel. The sauna wasn't on anyway, so we waited for it to warm up and tried to get a hot drink. In the coffee shop there was an old, half-eaten dead fish on the counter. Another staff member eventually came over and also seemed unhappy to see customers. They only had cow's milk, no dairy-free coffee option, and no hot tea. With no drink to enjoy and all the staff making us feel unwelcome, it didn't seem worth staying. Such a shame, because the place itself is incredible and has so much potential, but it's run and managed so poorly.

The grounds are clearly well looked after, and you can tell the owner cares about the place. We had a lovely stay at Lamun, with super friendly staff who jumped on anything we needed. We were lucky enough to be there for the famous Xmas party, which was a riot. Thanks again.

The villas were unbearably hot without A/C, with the glass windows and doors kept closed. We stayed in J3, where the bathroom water looked a bit muddy and the hand shower had no pressure, so bathing was a task. The rooms are exactly like the photos, very clean and with good amenities. It's a really good hotel with wasted potential, I presume because low bookings mean it isn't maintained. With proper maintenance and service, it could easily have been 5/5.
