Aspira Central Patong

The pool was great, and the location was excellent. I appreciated that the hotel offered a fruit basket as an apology and acknowledged the problems. I know the reception area is being renovated, but I think the bedrooms should have come first. I’ve stayed at lots of Aspira properties around Thailand and usually love them, so this location was disappointing. My room felt dark and dingy, and the corridor smelled strange, almost as if there were no proper ventilation. The balcony was filthy, covered with bird droppings, had an awful view, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was basic but decent. Housekeeping did a good job when they came, though I often had to ask first. Still, the room didn’t feel clean, with marks on the walls and cigarette burns on some furniture. Based on this visit, I wouldn’t book this Aspira hotel again.

We checked in at 10pm with our children, exhausted from a long trip. The receptionist said they couldn’t give us an extra bed or a cot for my two year old because housekeeping leaves at 5pm, even though we’d requested the cot. She was argumentative and really unhelpful. She wouldn’t let us go into the rooms, and I was adamant that we get the extra bedding we had asked for. It was a very sad welcome.

A bad experience. The other day they look for someone else, then tell you there’s no reservation the next day. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here 👎🏻

The staff were lovely, the price was reasonable, and the room was clean. I didn’t try the food. A good spot if you want to be near the beach, bars, and market.
