It had character, I’ll give it that. The sheets had a hole, the toilet overflowed, the TV didn’t work, and the whole place smelled of weed. Still, the stay was pretty decent, which is why this is nearly a pass mark. Another night or two would’ve felt like purgatory. My mate reckons I’ve been far too generous.

The room had a few serious problems. Flushing the toilet made it overflow and spread toilet water across the bathroom floor. There were maggots in the kettle, the double bed felt like concrete, and the bathroom had only a shower head hooked up to a small water heater. The bathroom window wouldn’t shut, so outdoor noise came straight in and mosquitoes kept getting inside. Ground floor rooms have sliding glass doors, which didn’t feel secure. At least there was a roof. The beach is reachable, but getting to the main parts of Patong Beach takes a 10-15 minute walk. At 2am, other attendees were shouting outside our room. We think it may have been about paying fees, but we’re unsure, including whether staff were involved. It went on for 10-15 minutes, with enough screaming and shouting to disturb everyone trying to sleep on the ground floor. Don’t come here, the reviews are all fake. I’d pick a more expensive hotel or somewhere with more amenities.

It’s cheap and the staff are friendly, which are the positives. The room was dusty, and there were lots of stains on the sheets and towels. The shower and toilet sit right beside each other, and the toilet leaks when flushed. The walls don’t block sound, so sleeping at night was very difficult.

Management were nice and helpful. There are a few food carts by the beach, but aside from 711 there isn’t much cheap food nearby. A tuk tuk ride to Patong Beach costs 100 baht.
