J Sweet Dream Boutique Patong

The manager's rudeness was the biggest issue for me. I believe customers should be treated with respect, whatever the circumstances, even if I don't subscribe to the idea that the customer is always right. The room was also in bad shape, with about 4-5 worms, a huge crack in the ceiling and dirty walls. I know a very cheap hotel won't offer much, but the good reviews surprised me. I'd only suggest staying here if your budget is strict and you have no other options.

The owner was polite, considerate and accommodating, and even found us a good taxi price for the ride to the airport. The room was a decent size, the location was good, and the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed a mountain view from the balcony and daily room cleaning. Patong Beach and lots of restaurants are within a 10-minute walk, with a Family Mart just 10 seconds away and a couple of 7/11s within two minutes. I stayed 15 nights with my family, and it was a pleasant trip overall. Reception service could be poor, though, and the staff sometimes seemed lazy and miserable. My wife asked one receptionist for tissue, was told “later,” and never got it. They could use some customer service training from the owner, who was much better at it.

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and the price was especially good. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed and good facilities. It's near everything you need but far enough away to stay quiet. I'd recommend it.

For the price, this is a good hotel. The young Pakistani owner was very cooperative. There's no food service, but you can find good food nearby. Bangla Stree is about 1km away, and the hotel rents bikes for around 200 Bhatt per 24 hours.
