Jaranya Hotel

There was a bad smell for the first few hours, and the drain wasn't working. I found hairs in the room, the towels were dirty, and there was repair work going on outside. For what it costs, this hotel is too expensive.

I come back to this place whenever I'm in Patong, usually for 1-2 months at a time. The area is quiet, and I love the lovely cats. My room on the 3rd floor had newly renovated furnishings, toilet, bed, TV, fridge, and AC. The building looks old outside, but inside it's freshly painted and redone. There's no lift, though the stairs are wide. My room had a big window for plenty of sunlight, but no balcony. The staff were great, from housekeeping to reception. There’s a smoking and sitting area at the entrance. Patong beach is a 5 minute walk, Bangla road about 10 minutes, and it takes around 45 minutes to walk to Tri Trang beach, a clean, quiet beach with free entry if you're up for a bit of hiking and exploring. The hospital and cheap massage at 150 baht are around the corner, with an international clinic next to the building too. You can sometimes hear an ambulance, but it doesn't bother me. Patong gym is across the street. There’s a 7/11, Tops Daily, and ATMs a 2 minute walk away. Early in the morning, a little market sells local Thai breakfast in boxes, desserts, and coffee. A local Thai vegetarian restaurant is a minute away on the right side of the building, and Lucky food restaurant is across the road, with some reasonably priced dishes. For transport, the airport bus stop at the Bangla police box is a 10 minute walk. From the airport, you can get off at Novotel and walk here. The bus to old town costs 40 baht and the walk to its stop is 15 minutes.

Really bad hotel. Please don't stay here, there are lots of good places to stay nearby.

At RM300++ a night, the room was way too expensive. The toilet was dirty, and the mattress springs felt like they were stabbing me. Housekeeping said that was normal for this price. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
