Patong Bay Residence Studio Apartments

We were happy with our stay in room 2815, the Deluxe Sunset View room, from 23/5/26 to 27/5/26. Before check-in, I asked for a room in the main building away from the main road, and the hotel accommodated the request. The bed was comfortable, neither too hard nor too soft, and the toilet had a bidet. There was also a microwave and fridge, plus a small balcony, though it had no chair or table. The hotel is in a local Muslim district, so halal food is easy to find, and there's a laundry opposite. A mosque is very close by. The tour counter in the lobby was surprisingly more expensive than booking online, when I expected it to be cheaper. It would also help Muslim travellers to have a Qibla direction sticker on the ceiling and halal food at the hotel, which they don't currently offer. The front desk staff could be warmer. When we passed through the lobby, they often didn't make eye contact or greet us, just looked at the computer, which didn't reflect Thai hospitality. Still, I'm satisfied with the stay and would come back.

Patong Bay Residence was a great base for our time in Phuket. It's close to Patong Beach and the attractions, yet tucked away enough to stay peaceful. The hotel had lovely views, a relaxing feel, and excellent service. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely designed, and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Everything about the stay was top-notch, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended for a Phuket visit.

For the price, it was a pretty good place. We chose a deluxe room with a sink and microwave, both useful to have. They hold 2000BHT as insurance and return it when you leave, just show the receipt. The pool is for relaxing, with a depth of 1.1-1.5m. I saw a couple of people sunbathing there, and they have several good happy hour offers. We tried the buy 1 get 1 free massage offer, but it only applied to soft massages, even though the ad made it sound otherwise. I'd suggest adding breakfast when you book. It's affordable and decent.

At checkout, they showed us incorrect images as proof, which felt unprofessional and concerning. The room wasn't comfortable either. The bed was very small, and the layout seemed poorly thought out, with an unnecessary induction exhaust taking up space instead of making the room more comfortable. This is advertised as a hotel, but it felt more like a hostel with very basic facilities. Towels aren't complimentary, so you have to pay daily, and utensils also cost extra and need to be requested from reception. Those charges made the stay inconvenient. It felt unprofessional and not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting standard hotel service.
