TIRAS Patong Beach Hotel

The location is hard to beat for the price. There are four floors and no elevator, so if stairs are an issue, this probably isn't the place for you. But the room was far better in person than the pictures suggested, which was a rare and pleasant surprise. I had the smallest room, and even its bathroom was large, newly remodeled, and spotless. For a two-star hotel, it felt like five.

The room was actually decent, which makes the way the receptionist handled things even more of a shame. I had booked one night, and at 10am the next day my partner had just flown in and came over while I was packing to check out. They wanted 500 baht for her to come up and wait. The memo they pointed to said the 500 baht charge applied to an extra person staying the night, which makes sense if there's an extra bed, but I was checking out shortly. Nothing I saw mentioned this extra charge for a short visit. It was a ridiculous customer service experience.

We were allowed to check in early, and the staff were accommodating and well-behaved. Our balcony room was spacious, with a clean bathroom and the usual amenities replenished daily. The property looked modern and well maintained, and we had a delightful stay. It's a good value hotel for someone with realistic expectations. The beach is only 200 meters away, right in a lively part of Patong, and the alley has street vendors, though I didn't engage with them. If you want somewhere neat, clean, and modern near the beach while spending most of your time exploring outside, this should suit you.

The atmosphere at TIRAS Patong beach hotel was pleasant, and the beach is just a minute's walk away. The stay was fine overall, with a clean, comfortable room and a great location.
