Nalanta Hotel Pattaya (SHA Plus+)

I spent three weeks at Nalanta and found the front desk team warm and lovely. The rooms are roomy, the hot water and WiFi worked great, and the AC was fantastic. I kept it at 16 degrees and slept really well. The room views aren’t much, but I hadn’t expected them to be. There’s a medium-sized refrigerator and an electric kettle with tea and coffee, but no microwave or hot plate. A shared microwave would have helped. I got around the reheating issue by asking the ladies at the connected Copper Spoon restaurant, who were happy to help since I was staying at the hotel. The location worked well, about 150m from Tree Town, with massage places, bars, and laundry shops right outside. It got a little noisy, though it was SongKran, and white noise helped block it out. I missed having a pool, especially since April is Thailand’s hottest season, but managed without one.

The rooms are a little small, and I wasn’t keen on the towels, but I’d happily stay again. The staff and cleaners were amazing, and made the place feel welcoming. It’s a friendly little hotel with two great restaurants, and I really enjoyed my time there.

For the price, service, and location, I thought it was a great deal and gave it 5⭐️ for value. It’s a bit old-fashioned and there’s no pool, but all the basics were there and working: air con, hot water, balcony, kitchenette with kettle, safe, and refrigerator. I didn’t use the TV, so can’t comment on that. It’s a block outside the busy center, easy to step into it or get away when needed 😂. Thanks to the staff for making me feel welcome and looked after.

The rooms each have a nice west-facing view, good for sunsets, though the balcony can get warm in the afternoon. Layout, furniture, and upkeep vary from room to room, so some are a little more appealing than others. It’s one of the nicest hotels in Pattaya. It costs a bit more than other places, but the fresh renovation, cleanliness, and good people make up for it. There’s a lovely garden and a great location, but no pool, which is a real bummer. Most nights were quiet enough to sleep, though one night had live music playing for most of the night. The central Pattaya party area is slowly spreading into these quieter neighborhoods, but this is still generally calmer than hotels near central Pattaya or, even more so, Walking Street.
