Nova Park Hotel Pattaya

For my 12 days in Pattaya, there was more good than bad. The air conditioning worked really well, housekeeping was phenomenal, and the pool area was scenic and relaxed. My first-floor room looked out by the pool, and the location is far enough away from the busy area to be peaceful during the day. The place looks nice in parts but could use some sprucing up. The towels were in rough shape and need replacing. At check-in, a middle-aged woman had a bad attitude and made things harder than they needed to be, though I fortunately didn't see her much. The biggest issue was a nearby club blasting music every night until 4 am, loud enough to hear in the room. My hearing isn't great, so it didn't bother me as much, but the noise is the main reason I might not stay again.

I paid for a garden terrace suite, but an air-conditioning problem led to them moving me to a standard two-bedroom apartment. Calling it an upgrade is a stretch: the second bedroom was locked, so it was really a one-bedroom place overlooking the car park instead of the pool view I'd paid for. It was disgusting. They offered no compensation, and Agoda was no help. I wasn't asking for a free room, just the room I booked or a refund for the difference. I looked at the garden terrace suites and they all seemed occupied, so I suspect there was no issue and they lied, either through a mistake or because someone paid more. The apartment itself was worn out, with gaps in the laminate floor and cracks in the balcony glass and countertop. The location is good, far enough from Pattaya's madness, and I didn't hear music from the nearby club. But the poor service and what felt like being cheated out of my room and money mean I would never come back. I wouldn't have hesitated otherwise. Update: At 7:15 am on my last day, the hotel next door was being demolished and woke me up. That's not an exaggeration, see video. At least it was my last day.

The receptionist was rude and arrogant. Even though rooms were available, they wouldn't let me check in early, so I spent three hours waiting in the lobby. They also took 200 THB as a security deposit. There's no restaurant at this hotel, and they send you to their other property instead. It's more like a B&B. Service was okay, and the location is good, about 2 km from Pattaya Beach.

We booked two rooms for five days, then were charged for a glass that wasn't even in our room. The receptionist was very rude and seemed to charge us for nothing. She really needs to be replaced.
