Bangla walking street is about a 10 minute walk away, and the beach and night markets are close too. The rooms are roomy and very clean, though a few still need renovation. Even so, they're kept in good shape. Breakfast had a lot of good choices, and the scrambled eggs were the best I've had at any 4-5 star hotel. Good value for the money, and the location is convenient.

The staff were kind and tried to help, but this was a miserable start to our holiday. We'd booked a week before moving on and arrived exhausted after a long trip. Our first room was called a “garden view,” though there was no view at all, and it was right beside a very noisy road. It smelled damp and drain-like, felt like a bunker, and wasn't very clean. I felt claustrophobic and couldn't breathe, so we asked to move. They agreed, but only after two days, and the next room was only slightly better. The road noise was still awful. For three nights I think I got no more than about two hours of sleep each night, and I was worn down physically and mentally. There was noise around the clock: loud music from tuk tuks, motorbikes revving through the night, and people loudly advertising Thai Boxing over speakers. It got grating. For young backpackers staying a night or two for the location, it might be fine. For an older couple like us, it was probably the worst place we've ever stayed. We wish we'd researched both this hotel and Patong, with its party and sex area, more carefully. We might as well have put our beds out on the roadside. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but anyone expecting a relaxing holiday should know what our week was like. We won't recommend this hotel or return to Patong, Phuket anytime soon. I'm just glad we'd booked only a week, which was much too long for me.

The quieter setting gives you more privacy and less noise, since the hotel is detached from Bangla Road, where there's a huge range of food, drinks, entertainment, and the beach. Breakfast is solid, and there's laundry service on the premises at a very reasonable price. It felt worth the money, just read the hotel rules about lost room keys and similar things. You could be charged unexpectedly if you're careless. Stay safe!

The staff are friendly, and the location is lively, with shops, restaurants, massages and other things around, just a three-minute walk from the beach. We didn't have any problems overall. The pool is okay, but the rooms were disappointing. Some had a strong sewage smell, and rooms beside the road could be quite loud. There were lots of Russian people staying at the hotel and around the whole area.

The checkout completely overshadowed the good parts of this stay. The bar staff were lovely, and having a 7/11 and ATM right outside was handy. Before checkout, I'd have called the place fair, around three stars. We chose a cheaper room, which was spacious but quite worn and a little grimy. The nicer rooms looked genuinely nice and probably worth paying extra for. We accepted our room because it was a great high-season deal for the area. The location was convenient, close to the action but far enough from the worst of it. Still, the hotel is on the main road. In a street-facing room, you hear everything as if the street were inside, and the neighbours come through loud and clear too. During our stay, there were a couple of cleaning problems we let go: once the room hadn't been cleaned when we'd been told it had, and once our “please make up room” sign had been turned to DND. When the tea cups were replaced after the first day, housekeeping didn't replace the spoons. We didn't say anything because the housekeeping staff were nice, we weren't using them, and we didn't think it mattered. Then at checkout, the receptionist accused us of taking spoons. I first thought she was joking, but she asked us to pay 100 thb. I was stunned. Our taxi was waiting, and I felt she assumed we'd pay because we were stressed. If I'd been alone, I think I would've felt intimidated. If you care about peace, don't stay here, or at least be ready for what felt like a made-up fee.
