Karon Phunaka Resort & Spa Hotel

The location is quiet and relaxing, but still close enough to the beach and main areas to be convenient. Karon Phunaka Resort & Spa sits on a hill, with lovely greenery and stunning views over Karon, especially in the peaceful mornings. We found the room spacious, clean, and comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful from check-in to checkout, and the service was consistently smooth. A great choice for a relaxing trip, especially for couples. We'd happily return and recommend it to people visiting Phuket.

What a view from the balcony! The room had all the amenities, and the hillside and cliffside buildings are beautifully situated. Getting from the lobby to the rooms is convenient, with elevators and buggy service available. On rainy days the walk from the room to the elevator can be a bit troublesome, but umbrellas are provided. It's also close to Karon Beach, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. But really, where can I buy that Lemongrass Shower Gel? 😂 So refreshing!

⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️⚠️‼️My money went missing from the room while I was at breakfast. I only noticed that evening and reported it to reception. They said they'd deal with it in the morning, but nobody called or showed any concern. They didn't ask what had happened. The manager wasn't there, and the assistant didn't seem to care. Later, they emailed to say they'd spoken with the room cleaners, who said they hadn't taken any money, and treated the matter as closed. My money was gone, and I had to check out that same day. The next day the police asked the hotel for a report, but the hotel didn't report it and wouldn't take responsibility, saying there hadn't been any previous thefts there. The cleaner had asked me twice when I was checking out, and I'd told her. I think cleaners take what they want the day before guests leave, when people may only notice at the airport or on the plane. 😂 Quite a theft plan. Take care of your belongings.‼️🙌

The views from this hotel are amazing, and they almost make up for the property looking surreal while the rooms feel very old. The furniture seems decades old and is in bad shape. What really spoiled things was the service: they wouldn't bring basic cutlery to my room and told me to get it from reception myself. Maybe that's how service is everywhere in Phuket, but small things like this make a stay enjoyable. The air conditioning didn't work either, so expect a sweaty day if it's hot outside.
