Rucksack Hostel

The rate was reasonable, and the location is convenient, about a five-minute walk to central Phuket bus station. The room was smaller than the photos suggested, though, the air conditioning didn't work properly, and the facilities weren't well maintained.

So noisy and dirty. The windows are thin, and I couldn't sleep at all. Bad behavior from the staff, and the area nearby was dirty and smelled bad too. NEVER GO THERE!

The room was nice enough and reasonably priced, but getting my luggage up to the fifth floor was a love-hate experience I'll remember. My deposit is still being held because the receptionist is only available from 8 to 12, and that makes it complicated if you check out in the morning. They can't return it through an international bank. I hope they can arrange an international bank transfer, or I'll have to wait until I travel back to Thailand.

The room was clean and the location was good, but I won't stay here alone again. At 2 AM a drunk man was banging on my door. I was traveling alone as a woman, so I didn't open it. I called reception, but they had trouble understanding English. Once I finally got the message across, the woman at the desk refused to do anything. Luckily, I had friends I could call, and they came over to handle it. It was frightening. Also, the market across the street starts operating at 4 AM every day, so it can be quite loud if you're a light sleeper.
