Sungthong Kamala Beach Resort

We realized after getting home that my husband and I had left belongings in the room. We flew home and arrived quite late, so we contacted the hotel the next day. We hadn’t gone anywhere else after checking out or opened our luggage, so we were sure the items were still at the hotel. I called and also asked a nearby friend to speak to the receptionist in person because we only wanted to get our things back. They said nothing had been found, even though I clearly remember where I left the items. I know it was our responsibility to take everything with us, but most hotels keep lost property and return it to its owner. It was disappointing that this hotel didn’t.

I stayed for two weeks and had everything I needed. The hotel was nice and clean, and the staff were very kind and caring. The beach was a bit of a walk, but I got some much-needed exercise.

The staff were bad. When I called at 10 am to ask for water in the room, they refused to give us any and kept pressuring us to check out. There’s no elevator, and the hotel uses misleading photos on Agoda and other booking apps to attract guests. It looked nothing like the pictures on the booking sites. I don’t recommend staying here.

Plenty of value here. The room had lots of space, a big comfortable bed, good pillows, and a balcony. Hot water and strong water pressure too. The beach, coffee shops, and restaurants are all an easy walk away. Parking and WiFi were available.
